Make different systems work as one.

Federated identity and shared infrastructure across a heterogeneous university environment.

Identity & enterprise integrationIdentity · Oracle · two-site infrastructure

The context

Central university services ran across IBM Power/AIX, Oracle E-Business Suite, Oracle Student System and heterogeneous Unix, Linux and Windows environments.

My responsibility

As a Senior Network, Server and Security Specialist, I combined technical architecture, operational support and staff/project management. The work required understanding the application, identity, infrastructure and security layers together.

The work

Designed and implemented federated identity integration using Kerberos and SAML/Shibboleth, and tuned application-layer security controls for Oracle services. Contributed to active-active infrastructure across two sites.

Shared infrastructure

Designed and implemented migration of application workloads to VMware, with shared provisioning and cost allocation for authorised University users.
