The context
An initial infrastructure review expanded into ownership of technical strategy and development and approval of a £1m transformation programme.
My responsibility
The wider engagement ran January 2013–June 2014. Interim Head of IT responsibilities ran September 2013–February 2014, managing 27 staff and a £2.7m operational budget.
The work
Defined a WAN across 100 MPLS and 350 broadband sites, two-site hosted infrastructure and a Citrix environment designed for 3,000 concurrent users. Reimplemented ISO 27001 policies and controls, supporting successful external recertification.
Business and delivery
Reviewed sourcing options and presented a partial-outsourcing recommendation to the board. Contributed to review and rebaselining of a delayed £2m ERP programme, helping refocus the business case and delivery approach.
